Mountains Galore!

So recently we've been spending a lot of time in the mountains, #1 because they are literally like 5 minutes away and #2 because we are moving to Texas and they don't have anything close to mountains so we are soaking it in now.  Last week we were able to go up and have a fire with hot dogs and smores with a couple families in our ward.

Emree always seems to find the chocolate, here she is chillaxing on the camp chair.

Lydia with her first smore ever.  She had so much fun rolling around in the dirt and hiking.

The awesome fire that I started, good to know I still have some Boy Scout skills in me yet.

This picture looked a lot prettier in real life, but on my phone it came out only as darkness.  But McCall and I went on a date last Friday and we went hiking for about an hour and a half and then went back and devoured ice cream at Cold Stones.  I think we've had four dates in four weeks, so we're doing pretty good, thanks to McCall's brilliant idea.

About 2 weeks ago, this has become our little family hike that we go on about every other week.  It's perfect because it follows a little stream and the kids love it.

Emree woke up super early one Saturday or Sunday morning and just wanted to cuddle, after some good cuddling minutes I whipped my phone out and she was loving it.

Playtime with daddy.  Every time Emree looks at this picture she giggles like crazy, she thinks it's the most hilarious thing ever.

Brenda gave us these dresses.  She saw them somewhere and immediately thought of our girls, such a nice lady to even think of us.

Picture from our hike, haven't gotten just the two of us for awhile now.  And I still didn't get all of McCall's head.

  1. What fun that you are able to get to the mountains so often. Reminds me of all our hikes with you guys. What great memories for your kids. Love those dresses on the girls. Love the expressions in the first two pics of your girls. cuddle time in the morning is the best with kids.

  2. Man JD, you've got such mad photography skills you should start a photography business. I am really jealous of all your hikes you are going on. I guess I have a mountain right next to me so I can do the same thing. You should invite me on one of those hikes sometime. Also, I love your girls. They are the cutest.

  5. Hey shelby, so the brilliant idea is nothing new... I just got lucky with some families in our ward who wanted to do it. We just do a babysitting date night swap. There are four of us families and we each pick one friday a month to watch everyones kids. Thus you get three free date nights with only having to babysit once. It has been working out pretty well so far. Its nice to have something to look forward to each week with the hubs thats for sure. :)
