Spring Time Fun!

Here is just a little bit of what we've been up to these last few weeks... as we try and enjoy our last few weeks here in beautiful Kentucky!

In no particular order...

We went camping with the kiddos for the first time this last weekend with some good friends of ours. We went down to Taylorsville Lake and stayed at the campgrounds there which were beautiful!

I'd say it was a success, although next time we will bring a blow up mattress and I won't be sharing my sleeping bag with my 7 1/2 month girly. :)

We made yummy tin foil dinners and had deliciously gooey, messy smores, stayed up late talking with good friends and left just in time to miss the rain.

Lydia LOVED camping and we will definintly be doing more in the near future!

As a belated Anniversary Date for me and my handsome hunk of a husband we got tickets to go see BLUE MAN GROUP at the Kentucky Center!

It was super fun and the show was AMAZING! We had never seen them in person before and they were hilarious as well as extremely talented and entertaining. I love how after any date that we come home from ( like perhaps once a month if we are lucky...) we always say to ourselves... "Man that was fun...sigh...we should do that more often..."

I love going on dates and spending one on one time with my hubbs. Hopefully in the near future we will be able to do more fun date nights. :)

Eggs, Eggs and Ha Hogs! (Hot Dogs...)

Lydia has loved all of the Easter festivities such as egg hunts, Easter parades, candy eating, park going and BBQ's with friends that April brings. We had so much fun getting together with friends and having our own egg hunts and it was also more fun for us to watch lydia actually be able to find eggs this year. I think after she figured out there was candy inside...she was more than willing to fill her basket full of eggs. :)

A lot of us girls in the ward have just had cute baby girls around the same time and so we decided to get a picture of all the lovely ladies. I would try and name them all in order although I would probably butcher a few of them, so to keep things fair I will just leave it alone. But aren't they all so adorable. And I love how Emree is the Largest one out of all these cuties. That's my girl!

We did a few other fun things over Spring Break and had a wonderful time enjoying each other's company. I just love my family!

Two Giggly Girls!

Hello Hello!

I've noticed that I tend to do really big blog posts with lots of pictures and lots of different topics.

Sorry...

First off we celebrated Lydia's 2nd Birthday! Ladybug Style!

I made a pretty cool ladybug pinata that we only videotaped....and didn't get a picture of...that all the kids loved!

We held her birthday at the park so that the kids could have double the fun that way.

We got a yummy cake that said Happy Birthday Lydia and it had flowers, bumble bees and a sun on it. We also had drinks, chips, and some fruit.

Lydia loved opening up more presents and among some of the things she got was a hand made dress, bubble blower, dolls, coloring books and crayons, lincoln logs, a bracelet with her name on it etc... She is one lucky girl.

What did her parents get her you may be asking yourself...well we got her the movie Puss In Boots. She absolutely loves this movie and would watch it every day, all day if we let her. She loves her "Cat" movie. :)

Emree is getting so big! She already weighs 21.9 lbs at 7 months old!

We sure love her rolls of baby love! She can kind of sit up and is rolling all over the place. She is so close to crawling! She loves to get your attention by letting out a high pitched scream...this girl sure has some lungs! Sheesh!

JD had Spring Break this last week and we decided to stay around our home and visit some of the many beautiful parks they have in Louisville. Here we are after a morning hike at Tom Sawyer Park.

Lydia was quite the trooper! She walked the whole way and loved every minute of it! She also propped her hat up like so...which we thought was pretty cute. :)

My little sweetheart is getting so big! Here are just a few things about this cute girl and what makes her such a joy to have in our family.

1. She claps her little hands really fast whenever she gets excited!

2. She loves peanut butter and asks for it all. day. long.

3. She loves going to the zoo and always talks about the snakes and elephants!

4. She sings her own theme song as she dances around all throughout the day.. Her song goes something like this.."do ta do ta doooo ta do ta do ta dooooo ta..and so on." :)

5. Whenever she hears soft music she says "Jesus?" and she also loves reading her picture scripture books.

6. Each morning she crawls up on our bed and gets right in emree's face and says, "HI BABY!" in her most high pitched and happy voice! Lydia loves her baby sister and emree gets so excited and giggly whenever she see's lydia as well. It's so cute to watch them together!

Sorry for how gross this is ... but we had our first 'poo poo' mess. Lydia had stuck her hand down her pants and came out with this...which she told me by coming up behind me and grabbing my arm with this yummy hand. Hmmm maybe it's time to start thinking about potty training this girl.

The Spring Blossoms have been absolutely gorgeous out here and we have been taking full advantage of our beautiful days here! We have been going to the park and to the zoo a lot lately and we just wanted to share some photos of our fun outings! :)

Our two girls are getting so big and they bring so much happiness to our home, we feel extremely blessed to have them as a part of our family and we love them to pieces!

I can HARDLY STAND to write this post!

Oh my goodness. I feel sick... I can hardly write this post without being utterly disgusted and freaked out!

Below is the nasty creature I found on Lydia's bedroom wall!

One thing I have never been to fond about out here in Kentucky is the life size bugs they have!

YUCK!

They freak me out. Ok, so I already have a fear of spiders..but I can eventually smash, vacuum or get them out of my sight sooner than later.

When I saw this I just about DIED!

I literally started wimpering and sweating bullets. I didn't know how in the world I was going to get rid of this incredibly ugly thing.

On the other hand I had NO IDEA what it was???!!

So not knowing what it was or if it was poisonous (spelling?) or not made the situation that much more scary.

It was huge and had a million disgusting spider legs, having the ones closest to it's ends a lot larger and bulkier than the rest..yuck yuck yuck!

The worst part though is when I was trying to come at it with a cup it sprang up on all legs and curled itself up like a hissing scorpion!

OH MY GOSH I WAS DYING!

So I realized I had to call in reinforcements because there was NO WAY I was going to be able to get this monster withough completetly losing it.

Longer story short, two of my really good friends, lauren and Cherie, that fortunately don't live that far from me came over in an instant and helped calm my nerves. Although one said it looked like a brown recluse (spelling?) !! Ya, that was not great news to hear.

In the end one of the maintenance workers for our apartment had to come get it and thank goodness he did because I'm sure it would've taken us quite awhile to get up the courage to kill that thing.

Sorry for the pics of this nasty thing, I can't even look at them or else I start freaking out. Oh and the guy said it was a millipede and that it was not poisonous...I don't know about you but I hope I never encounter a millipede again if that's what they look like. Sheesh!

I also have to add that Cherie stayed after and helped me move furniture and vacuum every corner of lydia's room, just to put my mind at rest that there would not be another creature hiding in her room, poor girl. I just feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends who are there for me, even if it is just a giant, disgusting, hissing nasty millipede.

To end on a lighter note though, here is sweet lydia eating her "juthes" as she calls it. We love to make green smoothies and lydia absolutely loves them!

Funny Sunday and Flower Headbands!

Ok, so this blog is being really stubborn right now and not letting me delete certain pictures, or write where I would like to. SO instead of getting too frustrated and not ever blogging I'm just going to finish...even if it is frustrating on my end. So sorry this isn't perfect...it's my crazy computer. (This is why I don't blog as much as I would like...because it never works when I do it...sigh...anyways.. ):)

I would like to start by giving updates about sweet Emree.

She is getting so big lately...literally. She is still in the 97% for weight and heighth weighing in at 19lbs 9.5 ounces

She has the most kissable cheeks ever!

She loves her food. She sits in her bumbo and while tapping her one leg up and down, holds her mouth wide open even if I don't have a bite ready for her. So cute!

She is now rolling all over the place and eventually gets where she wants to go.

She pushes herself up on all four but doesn't quite know what to do from there...she ends up just scooting herself backwards.

She absolutely LOVES her older sister! She giggles and squeals whenever lydia gets all up in her face and talks to her. I can tell these two will be the best of friends already.

Emree is always so happy and is such a calm, sweet baby.

She has lots of smiles for everyone and is growing up way too fast if you ask me.

Lydia experienced snow for the first time these last few days. She abviously loved it and was getting frustrated that her hands would get so cold.

I loved how in one day the snow had melted away and when lydia woke up she wouldn't stop saying. "Where iiih go?" I tried explaining to her that snow melts when the sun comes out...but I don't think she quite understood yet.

HEADBANDS! So I have finally made some headbands for my girls and wanted to share some I have made. I figured after the second girl that we should have some cute bows to go along with their outfits. Sorry lydia for not making these sooner. :)

I saw this idea on pinterest...it's an oatmeal can turned into a headband holder.

I just covered it with cloth and it turned out pretty cute if you ask me, you can even put more bows and clips inside for more storage space.

Here is cute lydia modeling my headbands....oh.. and I made two of each one so that lydia and emree could match. I would have given emree a photoshoot too.. she was asleep though...maybe next time. :)

On another note, Lydia will be 2 Years old this friday! March 9th is the big day! I can't believe I have a toddler already. I am throwing her a "ladybug" themed birthday party in a couple of weeks and had found this cute idea for invites! I think they turned out pretty cute. :)

I know this is kind of late, but I wanted to also post a little about Valentines Day.

Jd woke up early and made me a wonderful breakfast! We had blueberry waffles, English muffins with eggs and sausage, juice and fruit! It was delicious! He wrote me a beautiful card and gave me a bouquet of gorgeous flowers! (I'm sad I didn't get a picture of them before they died...)

These following pics are of a felt flower bouquet that I made JD. Me and a good friend of mine were going to surprise our husbands that day by showing up at school and dropping off our gifts and treats...Long story short though I burned my hand pretty bad and she ended up just dropping it off for me.

But here are pieces of the bouquet that once was... since Valentines Day our girls have been slowly plucking the flowers off. It looked pretty neat when it was one piece...but here it is never the less.

(He said he was pretty embarressed carrying it around all day with him at school.)

Mwa haha ha ha.

Oh I wanted to share one more story...sorry this is so long.

Lately Lydia has been loving church! Well, nursery that is. She talks about the "Toys" at church all morning and the whole way there. She has learned that when we say Amen at the end of prayers that that means she gets to finally go to Nursery.

Ha, it was cute because all through sacrament meeting whenever she heard the word "amen" she would perk right up and say, "Toys! Toys!" she would immediately start making her way out of the aisle.

It didn't quite help that it was fast and testimony meeting and we heard that word all through the hour.
