Funny Sunday and Flower Headbands!

Ok, so this blog is being really stubborn right now and not letting me delete certain pictures, or write where I would like to. SO instead of getting too frustrated and not ever blogging I'm just going to finish...even if it is frustrating on my end. So sorry this isn't perfect...it's my crazy computer. (This is why I don't blog as much as I would like...because it never works when I do it...sigh...anyways.. ):)
I would like to start by giving updates about sweet Emree.
She is getting so big lately...literally. She is still in the 97% for weight and heighth weighing in at 19lbs 9.5 ounces
She has the most kissable cheeks ever!
She loves her food. She sits in her bumbo and while tapping her one leg up and down, holds her mouth wide open even if I don't have a bite ready for her. So cute!
She is now rolling all over the place and eventually gets where she wants to go.
She pushes herself up on all four but doesn't quite know what to do from there...she ends up just scooting herself backwards.

She absolutely LOVES her older sister! She giggles and squeals whenever lydia gets all up in her face and talks to her. I can tell these two will be the best of friends already.
Emree is always so happy and is such a calm, sweet baby.
She has lots of smiles for everyone and is growing up way too fast if you ask me.

Lydia experienced snow for the first time these last few days. She abviously loved it and was getting frustrated that her hands would get so cold.
I loved how in one day the snow had melted away and when lydia woke up she wouldn't stop saying. "Where iiih go?" I tried explaining to her that snow melts when the sun comes out...but I don't think she quite understood yet.

HEADBANDS! So I have finally made some headbands for my girls and wanted to share some I have made. I figured after the second girl that we should have some cute bows to go along with their outfits. Sorry lydia for not making these sooner. :)

I saw this idea on pinterest...it's an oatmeal can turned into a headband holder.
I just covered it with cloth and it turned out pretty cute if you ask me, you can even put more bows and clips inside for more storage space.

Here is cute lydia modeling my headbands....oh.. and I made two of each one so that lydia and emree could match. I would have given emree a photoshoot too.. she was asleep though...maybe next time. :)

On another note, Lydia will be 2 Years old this friday! March 9th is the big day! I can't believe I have a toddler already. I am throwing her a "ladybug" themed birthday party in a couple of weeks and had found this cute idea for invites! I think they turned out pretty cute. :)

Pics of party coming soon! :)
I know this is kind of late, but I wanted to also post a little about Valentines Day.
Jd woke up early and made me a wonderful breakfast! We had blueberry waffles, English muffins with eggs and sausage, juice and fruit! It was delicious! He wrote me a beautiful card and gave me a bouquet of gorgeous flowers! (I'm sad I didn't get a picture of them before they died...)
These following pics are of a felt flower bouquet that I made JD. Me and a good friend of mine were going to surprise our husbands that day by showing up at school and dropping off our gifts and treats...Long story short though I burned my hand pretty bad and she ended up just dropping it off for me.
But here are pieces of the bouquet that once was... since Valentines Day our girls have been slowly plucking the flowers off. It looked pretty neat when it was one piece...but here it is never the less.
(He said he was pretty embarressed carrying it around all day with him at school.)
Mwa haha ha ha.

Oh I wanted to share one more story...sorry this is so long.
Lately Lydia has been loving church! Well, nursery that is. She talks about the "Toys" at church all morning and the whole way there. She has learned that when we say Amen at the end of prayers that that means she gets to finally go to Nursery.
Ha, it was cute because all through sacrament meeting whenever she heard the word "amen" she would perk right up and say, "Toys! Toys!" she would immediately start making her way out of the aisle.
It didn't quite help that it was fast and testimony meeting and we heard that word all through the hour.

Happy Birthday to McCall!

Happy Birthday to my dear sweet wife:

McCall is the best wife and mom a man could ask for. She always has a smile on her face or something funny to say. She thinks of others before herself probably 95% of the time (compared to the rest of us down at 10%). She's a hot momma. I love her a lot, hope she had a grand birthday even though it was on Sunday.

Some enjoyable videos:

First time Lydia has fallen asleep in her high chair, she must have been really tired...

McCall and I went to a Valentine's Stake Dance, where we tore up the dance floor. The theme was 50's, so I slicked back my hair and work jeans and a white shirt and McCall wore her immitation poodle skirt.

Homemade cheescake, it doesn't look so good from this picture but it was delicious. You're probably asking yourself why is it in glassware instead of a pie pan. Well that's the secret ingredient my friends.

Funny Sunday 2-12-12

1. I was watching an Apple commercial and I asked McCall who was in the kitchen, "What's the name of the guy who invented apple again?" She replied, "The guy who invented the apple?" Me, "Wasn't his name..." McCall interrupting, "You mean Jonny Appleseed?" I had a tough time recovering from that one.

2. So Mom, you will be glad to know that I brought out those trolls that you collected for me growing up and even happier to know that Lydia loves them. There's probably about 40 trolls in all, with each styling their own outfit. Lydia quickly held up the troll dressed up for Halloween with a trick or treat bag and said, "Chick a Cheat." Apparently that holiday has stuck out better than most.

3. Every time I change Lydia's nasty diapers I have to hold my breath and mutter gross, or say You Stink Girl! a couple times. Well this girl has learned quickly because before I can spit out my gross, you stink routine she says... "Ewww Dross... haha tinky, tinky, I tink haha, " and she really does giggle the whole time as if it's giving her so much pleasure.

And this cute picture... McCall made cute matching bows for the girlies.

Coming back to Utah!

So as most of you know we are coming back to Utah in May because I got accepted to the University of Utah and will be starting that residency in July. We feel extremely blessed because we thought there was no way I was going to get the position, and I had basically convinced myself beforehand to not be disappointed when the reply came back 'no.' But somehow I got in and we are so excited to be close to family again (even though there are some who are leaving as we get there :( but we're happy for them too). When I called up McCall that morning she squealed like a preschooler, and mom cried like... well a mom. When I got home McCall put a huge poster on the door that read, "We are so proud of You!"

Here are some other pictures of day to day life. Here are my two girls, for some reason I love pictures of just the two of them.
Lydia has really changed a lot recently. She has decreased in whininess about 10 fold, and she is generally so happy and full of hugs and love. I owe it to taking her binky away, McCall may agree sometimes.

Emree is getting pretty big now days. She has progressed to rice milk and bananas because she's always hungry. She scoots out of everything she's in and has near escaped even this bumbo on more than one occasion. She still loves Lydia even though at times Lydia's hugs and kisses just about suffocate her. Lydia has learned not to get too close though, cuz Emree has learned out how to use her hands to pull Lydia's hair. I can always see a smirk in her face when Lydia starts to wail and heads toward her momma.
We were given tons of books by a nice lady in our ward, and that's all Lydia wants to do now. Emree joins in every now and then. If Emree gets to close to the pages and starts grabbing them, Lydia makes sure who's in charge and shoves her back pretty hard against my chest.

Love my girls! And all 4 of us are so excited to be back in Utah in a couple months!

Hmmm... What Can I Make Today!

So I go through these phases of feeling crafty every once in awhile, so I thought I would share some of the projects I've been working on.

First off I made Lyida a chair! I've been wanting to get one for her for the longest time now since she sit's in every small chair she can find at any of her friends houses. She loves having one just her size and I knew she would love to have one of her own. But as I started my search for one I was quickly disappointed by how expensive they are, even ones at consignment stores (which looked kind of dirty as well). So as I was boucing sweet emree to sleep on my new yoga ball I saw an empty costco size diaper box just lying on the floor and I thought to myself.... "Self?" "Yes" "You should totally make your own little chair out of that diaper box!" "That is a great idea McCall!"

So that's how it started...

As you can see it may not last that very long, we will see how long the cardboard and glue can hold out. But I started by putting the cut diaper box on top of another box, using tape to hold it together. Then to stable out the sides I used some old books that we won't be reading for awhile at least... We had an old pillow that I could use for the cushion and some pink and green fabric I had laying around.

So.... with the use of some scotch tape, a glue gun, and some yarn, Lydia finally has her chair!
It makes me so happy to see her sitting in it, which she does quite often and I love how it literally cost me nothing, by just using things I had around the house and a little creative juice.

I'm a little proud of it if you can't already tell...so just wanted to share what I've been up to lately along with taking care of two sweet and sometimes crazy emotional girls. :)

Oh... JD wanted me to post this to see if anyone could guess what it is. So can anyone guess?

Here is the finished project!

The second project that i have been working on I got from Pinterest.. It's just scrapbook paper and some cloth in a painted over frame and each day you can write on the glass with a dry erase marker what you love about your spouse, then wipe it off and write something else. I would have written something on it for the photo but we don't have a black dry erase marker quite yet.

Bye!

Funny Sunday

It's been awhile since I posted on Funny Sunday, but I thought this was pretty funny... and cute.

If you didn't think that was funny maybe this will be:

I opened up my computer and much to my surprise I found that it had been used as a coloring book by some toddler who will be unnamed at this time.

Happy 3rd Anniversary

The 26th of December was our 3rd Anniversary, so we decided to shnaz up and go out on the town. First we went to Havana Rumba, which has a great atmosphere with a live Cuban band, and we might have stood up and danced our little hearts out if Emree wasn't being such a punk. (Yes we took Emree with us, but we did leave Lydia behind. Don't worry, we are going to see Fiddler on the Roof in a couple months without the two, there's just not a lot of events going on the day after Christmas)
Next we stopped in at Sweet n Swirly, a frozen yogurt gig that offered 100's of topping choices.

McCall's blood glucose reached well over 500mg/dL with this tasty heart attack.
My brain actually is overdosing on sugar right about now, I was in a state of stupor for well over 3 hours.
We headed off to the alley where we had a competitive game of bowling. No one lost their tempers and all was blissful...
We came home and watched a movie from Red Box called Sarah's Key that was a depressing movie about the Holocaust. We were so depressed after the movie that we decided to call it quits for the evening.
Love you my one and only sweat pea! Happy 3rd Anniversary!
